Cypress Basin Hospice Celebrates Volunteer Appreciation Week

Volunteer appreciation week notice designed by Cyprice Basin Hospice

April 1, 2020

Every April, volunteers around the nation are appreciated and recognized for all the hard work they provide to nonprofits and community organizations. Cypress Basin Hospice is no different.

During volunteer appreciation week we pause for food, fellowship, and celebrating the accomplishments of our volunteers. These volunteers sit with patients, help families and caregivers in their time of need, provide clerical assistance to our office staff, serve hours on their feet sometimes in the cold or heat to ensure community fundraisers go smoothly, serve Veterans through our “We Honor Veterans” program, and help with the day to day functions of our thrift stores.

In 2019, our volunteers provided almost 4,000 volunteer hours. When you think of volunteering for hospice, you might be hesitant at first, but once you see the robust volunteer program Cypress Basin Hospice has to offer, chances are there’s a place for your God given gift.

1 Peter 4:10 says, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” None of us want to imagine a loved one alone during the end stages of life, however, this happens all too frequently. With your help and partnership, we can help eliminate the isolation one may feel when they are diagnosed with a terminal illness. Our program is tailored to fit your individual needs and you can make a difference by giving as little as one hour of your time per month.

Cypress Basin Hospice would like to invite you to serve one another through our volunteer services program. If you’d like more information on our volunteer program, please contact Misty Walton, Volunteer Services Coordinator, at 903-577-1510 or m.walton@cbhospice.org.
