Our New Normal

Let’s be honest, 2020 has not exactly been the year that we expected. As we prepared ourselves for the beginning of the year, we all had hopes and dreams for what the new year would bring; new opportunities, graduations, celebrations, vacations and new memories. Many of us had plans we were looking forward to implementing. As suddenly as the year began, we were all introduced to COVID-19. This virus came into our world like an uninvited guest and disrupted our lives in a way that no one ever expected. As the news changed daily, we continued to hold out hope that this would pass and that life as we knew it would soon get back to normal.
Over the past few months, we have learned new ways to connect with each other. We have seen parades through our towns celebrating life and events in an effort to bring joy to those we love. Our communities have come together during this time to support each other by helping to provide supplies for protection and to provide guidance to everyone for safe practices. At Cypress Basin Hospice, we made many changes to our daily operations in order to provide the upmost safe care which include working remotely from home, incorporating telecommunications into our visits, and connecting with our community in new creative ways. We continue to stay abreast of the updates from local leadership to provide safe care to all communities we serve.
As we continue through this uncharted time together there are many unknowns that still arise. We do not know when we will be able to return to normal practices in our community or what our new normal will look like; however, what we do know is that despite any restrictions, we will remain a support to our community. We will continue to be a support to our community partners by offering all of our service to anyone who is in need. Cypress Basin Hospice will continue to be your partner through this uncharted time. While no one knows what the results of this current time in history will be, we do know that if our communities continue to come together in an effort to love our neighbors, we will come through this time stronger and better than before our uninvited guest arrived.
