2023 Camp Brave Heart
April 18, 2023
Do you know a child dealing with the loss of a loved one? If so, we at Cypress Basin Hospice offer Camp Brave Heart to support and strengthen grieving children ages 6 – 12.
Since 2010, Camp Brave Heart has been helping children understand their grief and develop coping skills in managing the emotions and behaviors that come with the bereavement process. It has been well-received by children and parents alike. Over 400 children have attended our camps since its inception. After missing the last two years due to COVID, we are extremely happy to announce Camp Brave Heart will be returning this year! Many children have attended the camp for several consecutive years. Some of our older campers come back as volunteers. This is our service to the community and is FREE of charge. The activities and interactions with the children are guided by trained bereavement counselors who provide emotional support on a daily basis to the patients and family members on our hospice.
Camp Brave Heart is a faith-based day camp held for two days from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm each day. Along with hospice staff, the camp runs with the help of volunteers who receive training before each camp. Please click on the “Register Here” link and fill out the required information, and an email with a student application will be sent to you.
