Cypress Basin Hospice Honors Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast cancer awareness month notice for Cypress Basin Hospice

October 1, 2020

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month is dedicated to increasing awareness of breast cancer, raising funding for research into the cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure of breast cancer, and providing information and support for those with breast cancer or for those who may be at risk for breast cancer.

The American Cancer Society recommends that all women over the age of 40 get an annual mammogram and check up performed by a clinical physician. You can also find information on steps you can take to preform an at home exam on a regular basis. Many community hospitals and clinics provide helpful resources and mammogram screenings at a little to no cost during the month of October. Prevention is the key to early detection.

If you have lost a loved one and would like to speak to someone, Cypress Basin Hospice chaplains and bereavement counselors are available to you at no cost. We also offer community support groups that are free and open to the public. Your loved one did not have to receive hospice care in order to attend these support groups or meet with a chaplain or bereavement counselor. You can reach our support team by calling 903-577-1510.
